How it started…

The Tour Bloom project was born out of the most painful season of my life.

As I searched for the meaning in the pain, I randomly discovered the desert yucca. A fire-adaptive plant, it not only survives harsh environments, it blooms more fully after a wildfire. Like the mythic Phoenix, it rises from ashes.

I also discovered how isolating pain can be. It’s one thing to suffer, but it’s another to feel like you’re doing it alone. That recognition guided my vision, and the yucca became a symbol for what I wanted to create…something that could stand in the harsh places with others. Something that could point to the possibility of resilience and blooming after fire.

Artists and their guardians know about wildfire moments… the breaking points, road-worn days, quiet devastations that we carry on stage and at home alone… the intersection of human life with touring life.

But we also know survival. The Tour Bloom is a space to explore the process of becoming fire-adapted, not just through strength alone, but with support, community, and the commitment to care that stays beside you, even in the dark.
